Easy DIY Wall Art from Bamboo Sticks and Shelf Liner

If you told me a year ago that I would make my own DIY wall art with a bamboo sushi roll and plain white shelf liner, I would've laughed. Out loud.

But two weeks ago, I really did make a DIY wall art with a bamboo sushi roll and plain white shelf liner and mounted it on the wall with mounting tape, and I could not believe how chic it looks!!!

I mean, it looks like it was store-bought from some expensive home décor store doesn't it?

“Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.”

To make this, all I used was my trusty old glue gun, plain white shelf liner and bamboo sushi roll sticks from the supermarket!

Things you'll need:

  • Glue gun (here is a similar glue gun to the one I use)

  • White shelf-liner (this is the one I used)

  • Bamboo sushi roll (here is similar one to the sushi roll I used)

How-to:

  • Spread the liner on the floor, and secure it so that it won't roll back up.

  • Cut the shelf liner to your desired length.

  • Untie the bamboo sushi roll and separate the bamboo sticks.

  • Line your bamboo sticks as a frame around the shelf liner.

  • Glue the sticks, one by one, to the shelf liner with your glue gun so that they form a frame around it.

You can play with the patterns for the frame and get creative with it. You can make the frame as thick or thin as you like. When the glue is all set, mount the wall art on your wall with some mounting tape, and you're done! It's super simple and super easy.
